“"The aliens are here, they are just not from outer space. AI, which usually stands for artificial intelligence, I think it stands for alien intelligence because AI is an alien type of intelligence." (Yuval Noah Harari)
This quote stuck with me not because I think there are aliens but rather because it reminds me of one thing:
All software systems, in particular the AI systems we’re creating now, but also the Netflixes of the world, Spotify, and Amazon. We’re interacting with all of them in an almost human way.
Yet none of those are even close to human. They are made for perfection, for optimizing towards single goals or functions. At the same time, humans are made for messiness.
