No one knows what “Click to deliver” is
myself included. At least until I read about it in a book about Amazon.
So, “Click to Deliver” is a metric designed by the Amazon leadership team to measure the amount of time from the moment a customer places an order to the moment the package arrives at its final destination.
At the point of conception, Amazon didn’t have Prime, no one-day delivery, and as such, this metric became very important in understanding Amazon's business.
What is so amazing to me isn’t this one metric, it is that Amazon has invented dozens of metrics again and again to understand what controls their business.
Noone may know this metric outside of Amazon, and that’s the point. Noone should know yours either. If you focus on CLV or lead times, you’re doing a poor job of understanding how your business runs.
You gotta put in the work to analyze your business.
