I just wrestled with bash & CSVs for 60 minutes

it feels like we’re not getting anywhere. We try to glue together different pieces of technology. Hack things together, Zaps, CSVs, and bash scripts. After 30 minutes, our results suck.

After 50 minutes, we’re about to give up.

After 60 minutes, they look ok.

Five minutes later, they look great.

Automating tasks doesn’t really take that long, but there’s a hump to get over. The process just feels icky. But once we get our results, it feels a bit like magic.

Because that’s what it is to live in a world of abundant technology: magical.
